In this half-day workshop we will work together to address the parts of information management that have given you the most problems. We will set the stage by posing some simple but powerful answers to the question: "what should an information system do for you." I will then introduce the various parts of information management in order to get you to think about the issues that are most difficult in your organization. We can address any issues you like. Past participants have asked:

  • What product should I buy?
  • Am I managing content, documents, knowledge or what?
  • How do I get people to contribute information
  • How do I justify my system?
  • What kinds of people do I need on my team?
  • How can I measure success?
  • What taxonomies do I need and how do I create them?
  • How do I figure out what my information reuse needs are and how do I make reuse a reality?
  • How do I break down information into types and organize it?
  • How do I integrate systems?
  • How do I centralize control of information?

At the end of the workshop I hope to have helped you to resolve your key issues but also to have helped you adopt an attitude that will allow you to continue to confront issues as they arise.
